Meet Patrizia, Sales Executive for Italy

Building up a brand in a new market is an exciting challenge; the opportunity to have a real impact on a company’s future. At iAdvize, a team of business developers has the mission of convincing companies in new territories to choose our conversational commerce platform to empower their online customer experience strategy. Some of them are based in Nantes (headquarters), the others in their respective target markets: Madrid, Düsseldorf and London. Patrizia arrived in May 2015 and is on the inside sales team. Her job is to develop the Italian market. Today, Patrizia is the second in this series of interviews with those leading the way to international development.  

How did life lead you to iAdvize? Where were you before?

I arrived at iAdvize after leaving my dear Italy to “follow my heart” (always the women who make the effort! ). After years as a textile and cosmetics purchaser (I don’t regret this at all… getting free clothes and make-up every day was pretty nice!), I arrived in Nantes and starting looking for a job that would be a challenge and a new adventure for me! And amongst the different options, I chose iAdvize. Straight away, I really like the concept and felt enthusiastic about telling my country all about this platform that could transform the way digital companies interact with their customers: it was a real challenge and also a way to stay connected with “La Dolce Vita”!

What appealed to you about working for a French company targeting the Italian market?

One of the most interesting things was discovering a sector I had not yet worked in and to observe the reaction of a market I knew well, from a different angle: new contacts, new concerns, new negotiation tactics and new ways of building up brand awareness.

What are you most proud of since you joined the company?

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, working on a market that is very different from the others when it comes to all things digital, and therefore sometimes difficult to understand. I’ve worked hard at every contract and seeing that customers are satisfied with the value I’ve given them is always extremely gratifying.  

Can you tell us a little bit about the eCommerce market in Italy? What does iAdvize have to offer?

The eCommerce market in Italy is not yet that developed, at least compared to many other European markets. But this market is now demonstrating that it has great interest in innovation. We need to be able to prove that we can make the difference by providing an innovative solution, that is way beyond other tools in terms of quality and vision

Which personality traits are welcome when working on a small team setting out to conquer a new market?

“Be insatiables, be crazy!”, don’t ever give up! The challenge is great but the results are so rewarding! We are a real team, sat next to each other, united by the same challenge: we have a new country to discover, a range of different industries, different requests, different responses. This is how we stay creative and define new objectives to rise to the wider challenge! The highest mountains are the most rewarding, once you get to the top :-)

Miranda is in charge of internal communications at iAdvize, where she started working 3 years ago, originally as communications officer for the UK market. She has a BA from UCL in languages and a masters degree in translation and communication from the ISIT school in Paris. Although her passport is British, she feels at home on the continent ;-) Intrigued by all things cross-cultural, disruptive and customer service-related.
